SAFER (Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters) is a program of BC Housing that provides financial assistance to BC renters age sixty and older whose rent is more than 30 percent of their income. Call for more information. Monday – Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Formerly known as SHIP, housing counselors are available to help seniors. This is a free service that provides information on housing options as well as Information and Referral on community resources. Monday – Friday, 8:30am- 4:30pm.
At Sources, we believe that social wellness begins with a foundation of basic human needs including safe and stable housing. We also know that – for individuals and families living on low income – stable housing can be easily disrupted by a personal crisis or an unforeseen expense.
Sources Rent Bank assists individuals and families who are at risk of homelessness by offering short term loans for rent, damage deposit, and/or utilities. This program also offers coaching and workshops to assist individuals and families living on low income to increase their knowledge of financial management and residential tenancy rights and obligations.
