Doug Waymark


Chair Person

Doug brings more that thirty years of experience in financial services to his role on the Board.  Committed to constant improvement, Doug has complimented his career experience with extensive professional training.  He is a fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers, a Certified Financial Planner, and a Financial Management Advisor.  In addition, he holds the Specialist Trust Institute designation.  Doug is also active in the community, currently as a member of the Semiahmoo Rotary Club.

Doug believes that a financial plan is extremely valuable in helping you achieve your goals for overall long-term financial well-being.  It can provide you with a clear picture of where you are now and create a strategy for what you need to do, to have peace of mind for the future.

Lynne Sinclair


Vice Chair Person

A lifelong resident of White Rock, Lynne has a Bachelor and Master of Education from UBC. A former teacher and Director at the BC Teachers’ Federation, she has provincial, national and international experience as a workshop facilitator and conference presenter and has extensive negotiation, human resources, and facilitation skills.

As a White Rock City Councillor she served on many boards or committees, including Peace Arch Hospital FoundationMuseum and Archives, and the Lower Mainland Local Government Association. She continues to be involved on the Peninsula Homeless to Housing Task Force, the Semiahmoo Arts Council and serves on the Board at Seniors Come Share Society.

Jane Anne Gwyneth Purdie

Jane graduated from the University of Manitoba Law School in 1976, after her B.A. (Economics/English) from the University of Saskatchewan.  She moved to British Columbia in 1979 and has practiced in White Rock, B.C. since 1980.

She was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1992.  Her practice is very general, but due to White Rock being an attractive retirement community she has been involved in what is now called Elder Law for some time.  Jane served on the board and was President of a non-profit nursing home for 9 years, and is currently with Seniors Come Share Society, which provides seniors support and adult day programs.

She has served on various Law Society of B.C. committees, was the Chair of the Joint B.C. Real Estate Association/Canadian Bar Association, provincial real estate contract standardization committee, has been a board member of the Continuing Legal Education Society of B.C., and has been an elected member of the Canadian Bar Association Provincial Bar Council. 

Jane has taught courses or seminars in various topics including: mortgages and foreclosures, family law, real estate, ethics, elder law, wills/estates and probate for the British Columbia Continuing Legal Education Society, the Public Legal Education Society, the Law Society of B.C., the Canadian Bar Association nationally in New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador, and has presented for various community and corporate organizations.   Her interests include cycling, skiing, curling and reading.

Bill Anderson

Bill was born on a small farm and spent his early life in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island.  He enrolled at the University of BC  and graduated in 1973 with a degree in Commerce (Finance Major).  He got the travel bug and took two extended trips to Europe before he was 21 years old; he still enjoys travelling as often as possible.

Bill got married in 1977, moved to Surrey in 1978 and raised two sons.  They were active in many sports, and Bill coached soccer for several years.  Bill acted as Chair of the Board for Fleetwood / Northwood United Church for many years.  He oversaw the sale of major land parcels and buying of land for the new Northwood United Church at 88th and 156th in Surrey.  He also was a periodic volunteer server at Newton Seniors Center.

Bill worked with BC Tel / TELUS for thirty years, holding roles in numerous departments, includng Marketing, Business Development, Technology Development, and Management.  Bill wrote the Real Estate exam and began a realty career in 2003.  He spent the first eight years with REMAX in North Delta, and is now working close to home, with Sutton West Coast Realty in South Surrey.

Doug Hart


Board Member

Doug Hart is an independent consultant specializing in strategic business and succession planning. Doug recently served as Executive Director for the South Surrey & White Rock Chamber of Commerce and ran in the last Municipal election for Councillor for the City of White Rock.

Prior to being with the SSWR Chamber of Commerce, Doug served as a Vice-President and Officer for Industrial Alliance Pacific Life Insurance in Vancouver for over 11 years where he was responsible for one of their major operating divisions.

In addition to his corporate and governance experience, Mr Hart currently serves as Director on the boards of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) and the Burns Bog Conservation Foundation.

Mr. Hart is a graduate of the University of British Columbia in Commerce.  Doug is married with two boys and lives in White Rock.  Doug and his family have resided in the White Rock, South Surrey area since 1992.

Louise Tremblay


Board Member

Louise Tremblay has been a resident of White Rock / South Surrey for the last 20 years.

She has over 30 years of experience in general business management in industries ranging from environmental to telecommunications and energy, playing diverse roles in executive and general management, business development, sales and marketing and operations.

In 2012, she joined the non-profit sector as Director of Development for The Semiahmoo Foundation, an organization that supports Semiahmoo House Society.  She is also the Founder of Collaborate Global, a consulting business providing an array of management services to corporations and non-profit organizations.  At present, she has a contract with the BC Association of Community Response Networks where she is responsible for creating and mentoring networks of agencies concerned with the abuse, neglect and self-neglect of adults.  Her clients have ranged from government to emerging and growth oriented companies.

Louise holds a Master of Arts in Leadership degree from Royal Roads University in Victoria, in addition to attending other personal development and business oriented courses over the years.  Her volunteering activities have included working for organizations providing services to seniors and people with disabilities and translating social science books for children with learning disabilities.  In 2013, she was elected on the board of directors of Seniors Come Share Centre in Surrey.

Louise’s philosophy is that leadership is not necessarily about hierarchy. Leadership is spirituality.  It’s about individuals arriving to a conscious state that culminates to the strong and genuine desire to develop humanistic and inclusive values.



Jim graduated from the University or Victoria in 1976 with a degree in history and became a Certified General Accountant in 1986. Before opening Murphy and Murphy in 1988 with his spouse Trish, who is also a CGA, Jim had extensive experience in hospitality and construction sectors.  Jim is a member of the CGA quarter century club.  Since 2003 Jim has operated Murphy and Murphy’s White Rock location and is very knowledgeable about taxation issues of concern to seniors.

Previously Jim was the president of the British Columbia Association of Hospitality Accountants, Treasurer of Vancouver Racquets Club and then Bayside Squash Club.

In his spare time Jim enjoys swimming, playing the guitar, photography and cycling. Jim and Trish live in Tsawwassen and are proud parents to three sons all of whom are currently enrolled in post-secondary education.


Board Member

Ross is a retired business executive with over forty years’ experience in financial institutions, as an executive, a regulator and as an independent consultant. He has extensive experience in strategic planning and governance.

Ross has served as a director on various boards including Westminster Savings Credit Union, Central One Credit Union, Northwest and Ethical Investments and Credential Financial.  He has also served on non-profit boards both as a director and chair including the Credit Union Foundation of BC and the Community Living Society.

Ross is a former Certified General Accountant and a graduate of the Directors Education Program at the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) Corporate Governance College.

A long time Surrey resident, Ross lives in South Surrey with his wife who he met while attending high school in Surrey.
