We are in the Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre

Great News — we are expanding!

Seniors Come Share Society, as of Oct 1, 2015, will be opening a new Day Program for Older Adults in the Guildford area. This new site will mean more day program spaces from which older adults can benefit, thus alleviating long drives to access services. Our existing two Day Programs in White Rock and Newton will continue to offer the great services they have been providing for over 36 years. Both these day programs have healthy wait lists and a third Day Program in Surrey will help relieve the pressure on families and seniors who are waiting for service. The Seniors Come Share Society’s sole focus is supporting older adults and their families, so that they can stay in their home, within their existing community, for as long as possible. In addition to our Day Programs, our programs include: Information and Referral Services – helping people access services: ensuring they are aware ofavailable services and, when necessary, helping them complete the paper work to apply for these services, Friendly Visitor – one to one social sessions, Community Meal programs – sharing a meal, some entertainment, and building connections with friends at one of the community recreation centres, Caregiver programs – supporting caregivers on a one to one basis, through education and through social opportunities, and Better at Home program – providing non-medical home support such as light housekeeping, yard work, social transportation, and a variety of additional services. Seniors Come Share Society is honoured to be able to assist families and older adults within the cities of Surrey and White Rock and will continue to provide and expand these services in support of these individuals.

A great win for our organization

Seniors Come Share Society is delighted to have Sue nominated for the Surrey Board of Trade Surrey Business Award for Women. Though we did not officially win, being nominated in such an auspicious group of organizations is a win in itself and it helped build more awareness of our organization which is a great result.
